Decide on two of your artifacts from Units 2 – 6 that best represent your interests or talents in the Humanities and revise or edit as needed based on your instructor’s assignment feedback. Submit each revised artifact to the assignment link.

Step 2

Write a reflection of 3 to 5 well-developed paragraphs sharing your academic experience learning about other cultures and historical times as well as your creative experience in this course. Submit this reflection as an MS Word document through the same assignment link.

Some things to consider. Think about areas of the Humanities you are now interested in exploring further…whether you will go back to playing on your old keyboard, guitar, or another instrument…how knowing more about the societies and peoples that came before us allows us to celebrate humanity today.

If you use source material in your reflection (not required), please remember to cite sources using APA format and provide reference entries for every source used.

Present:

a spiritual journey in narrative form. Remember, this artifact represents the power of spiritual belief and the reason we celebrate all religions in the Humanities. It is about the journey. How did you or the person whose journey you are sharing get from Point A of unbelief to Point B of belief? Was it another person’s testimony, sacred scripture, a spiritual awakening experience, etc., that led to belief? That is the journey to present in your artifact (2 or more well-developed paragraphs).

Analyze:

the ‘how’ and the ‘why’ this religion impacts yourself and others. Do the moral tenets of the religious system help you or others to be model employees or more trusted friends, or helpful to family and loved ones? What does submission to the Divine bring to the soul (peace, assurance, comfort, etc.) (1 or more well-developed paragraphs)?

Reflect:

on what religion means to you now that you have completed Unit 4 and learned about other types of religions. Think about how having a deeper understanding of the similarities and differences the religions share strengthens your own beliefs. (1 or more well-developed paragraphs)

6 The Ideas of Faith and Religious Expression Name University Professor Thompson 08/07/2022 Moral Tenets making up my Religious System My spiritual journey began when I was young. I was raised in a family that didn’t attend church or prays. My mom would take us to church on Easter and Christmas, but that was it. I didn’t have any exposure to religion. I was never really sure what I believed in. I knew something more was out there, but I didn’t know what it was. When I was in college, I started dating a very religious guy. He was raised Catholic and went to church every week. He would try to get me to go with him, but I always resisted. I wasn’t sure if I believed in God or not. I didn’t want to go to church and pretend to believe in something I wasn’t sure about. Eventually, I decided to give it a try. I went to church with my boyfriend and liked it. I loved being in a community and around people who believed in something. I started to learn more about God and realized that I believed in him. I began attending church more regularly and even joined a Bible study group. My faith has grown since then. I have been through some tough times, and my confidence has always been there for me. I know that no matter what happens, God is always with me. My faith is essential to me and has improved my life (BELDIMAN, 2019). I am so grateful for the spiritual journey that I have been on. It has brought me closer to God and made me into the person I am today. The Moral Tenets of the Religious System My faith’s moral tenets have helped me be a better person. I am more patient, forgiving, and loving because of my faith (BELDIMAN, 2019). I am also more confident and self-assured. I know that I am a good person, and I am doing the best that I can. I am so grateful for the spiritual journey that I have been on. My faith is fundamental to me, and it has improved my life. It has brought me closer to God and made me into the person I am today. Reflection I have gained a deeper understanding of religion after taking this class. I have learned about the different beliefs and practices of different religions, and I have come to respect them all. I think the more we know about other religions, the more we can appreciate our own. I also believe that it is essential to remember that we all believe in the same thing. We all believe in a higher power, and we all want to live our lives in a way that is pleasing to that power. I think the more we can focus on our similarities, the more we can understand and respect each other. References BELDIMAN, N. (2019). Religious-Moral tenets in the Sermons of Father Arsenie Boca.
