Annotated Bibliography

An annotated bibliography can be defined as a list of citations to books, articles, and documents. Each citation is followed by a brief summary and evaluative paragraph about the article, this is the annotation. The purpose is to inform the reader of the relevance, accuracy, and quality of the sources cited (How to prepare and annotated bibliography: the annotated bibliography, 2017). An annotated bibliography can be a project in a school course or a requirement for a job. It can improve the writer’s verbal and written skills because it provides a comprehensive overview of the topic. By summarizing and evaluation different articles, the writer is learning valuable information about the topic and gaining confidence in connecting facts like scholars do. They are learning mastery of the material and the mental comprise of the topics being researched. These skills obtained during the annotated process can help when becoming a Family Services counselor because it will help with my writing skills and being able to summarize important information needed in the reports made to court. It will also help me gain mastery information when I have to research my own projects for work (Johnson, Rettig, Scott, & Garrison, 2015).
